Rooibos (pronounced ROY-boss) tea is a red herbal tea that comes from the fermented leaves of the Aspalathus linearis shrub, a plant native to South Africa. Many people enjoy it as an alternative to green or black tea.

Use

Rooibos is considered an herbal "tea" and is caffeine-free. Rooibos tea is known to relieve stress and nervous tension. It is rich in many mineral contents such as iron, calcium, potassium, copper, manganese, zinc, magnesium, and alpha hydroxy acid. Rooibos naturally contains zinc and alpha hydroxy acids which are known to help clarify the skin.
